My Guest: Damon Carroll

I've known Damon and his family for twelve or fifteen years now. It is always a pleasure to visit with, get beat at Dominos or Farkle by, and share music with Damon.
Damon Carroll lives near Dallas, Texas. He is a wood crafter, Dulcimer builder, multi-instrumentalist, Songsmith, entertainer, and all around good guy. His music and lyrics draw you in, keep you guessing, and turn you loose. Damon has the proverbial handle on his guitar playing. His dynamic use and knowledge of chords and voicing keep you listening and interested. At first listen to Damon's performances you hear the obvious influence of the 60's and 70's folk rockers like, Neil Young, The Band, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash, but upon a second listen you realize Damon's words and stories are unique to himself. He builds his songs from a good mixture of irony, humor, and everyday "truth is stranger than fiction" life. Damon can spin the yarn of a lonely lost soul, set a trap comprised of comedy and tragedy, and lay out a happy go lucky foot tapping groove that'll have you dancing 'tween the tables of your favorite burger and beer joint!
I'm still not convinced his dominos and dice aren't marked and loaded. I'm glad to Know Damon Carroll.,
